Senior Associate

Debo is a senior associate in our London office.

Prior to joining the firm, Debo worked as a Research Assistant for two renowned LMAA arbitrators and subsequently at the University of Southampton’s Institute of Maritime Law. She also holds an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton.

Debo specialises in wet and dry shipping litigation, acting regularly for Shipowners, Charterers, P&I Clubs and Insurers, in relation to issues such as charterparty disputes, cargo misdelivery, limitation of liability, arrest, collision, salvage, general average, and insurance coverage.

As an experienced member of our sanctions team, Debo’s work includes guiding Insurers, Managers, Shipowners and Charterers on various sanctions compliance issues. This includes, carrying out sanctions checks and providing advice on proposed vessel fixtures, regularly advising on the UK’s price cap regime. potential liability for rejecting voyage orders under charterparties where a proposed fixture may result in a breach of sanctions or a breach of any sanctions terms in a vessel’s financing agreements.

Debo’s litigation expertise includes London arbitration and English Court proceedings, as well as alternative dispute resolution such as mediation.

Debo is involved in high-profile cases dealing with complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions, including long-term disputes engaging with the UK Court system from first instance judgment all the way to the Supreme Court.
