Alexandra Bailey
Alexandra is a Senior Claims Manager in our London office with both a legal and a commercial background.
Before joining private practice, Alexandra spent 11 years working in industry, predominantly in tanker chartering (Crude/LPG/LNG) and tanker operations (Crude/Chemical/Commodity Chemicals/Edible Oils), as well as in dry bulk/RoRo/heavy lift. She also dealt with all post-fixture matters at that time, such as laytime and demurrage calculations, analysis of voyage profitability/TCE daily returns and performance claims.
She has worked for a large international claims handling firm in their General Average and Casualty Management Department, where she handled complex claims on a daily basis, for cargo or hull underwriters. Alexandra then entered private practice with a leading maritime law firm in 2008, focussing on dry shipping, admiralty/maritime casualty cases, commercial dispute resolution and international trade.
Alexandra continues to build on these practice areas and until recently, she was based in the UAE where in addition to her English law caseload she was actively involved in UAE litigation matters.
