The Mighty CJC Dragons Race for Great Ormond Street

Joined by colleagues from Quadrant Chambers and RMK Maritime, the firm competed against 25 other teams from the maritime industry in this year’s OSCAR Dragon Boat Race on Millwall Docks to raise money for the lifesaving care and research provided by Great Ormond Street Hospital and the UCL Institute of Child Health.

The CJC Dragons (Richard Murray, Steve Brown, Kirsty MacHardy, Tim Guyer, Peter Theochari, Sandros Koutouroushis, Marcelo Rodrigues, Tom Burdass, Harriet Dennison, James Tanner and Tony Stephenson) paddled with fury to win the first heat of the competition against Augustea, and narrowly lost to rivals HFW by less than 1 second in the following round. However, with the pressure on and improved rhythm technique, they managed to knock 5 seconds off their first qualifying win.

“Love Street” with lead singer CJC partner Julian Clark (http://www.lovestreet.me) entertained the crowds after the event. The OSCAR campaign raised more than £113,000 for the charity. A job very well done by all!
