One of CJC's future Trainee Solicitors, Richard Murray, will join another seven British crew members in November to take part in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) Race - the largest trans-ocean race in the world.
After a week of sea survival and safety training, their Beneteau First 40.7 performance cruiser will leave Las Palmas de Grand Canaria on 25 November. The NE trade winds will carry 2700 participating vessels approx. 2700 nautical miles through the tropics to Rodney Bay, St Lucia.
Racing is governed by the IRC Handicap System, run by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC).
All vessels will carry an Iridium tracker allowing enthusiasts on dry land to keep tabs on progress via Fleet Viewer. The estimated passage time is three weeks.
Richard will also skipper the 'Aphrodite Spirit' and crew of 5 in this year's JP Morgan Round the Island Race on 30 June.
