2014 marked a momentous occasion in the firm’s history; CJC entered the world of international football.
After promising performances at various tournaments, particularly at the ever popular Marine Challenge Cup (we were group winners in 2013), the decision was made to make the move up to the European scene at the prestigious Posidonia 5-a-side tournament.
On Saturday 1 June, the CJC team (pictured below) of Steve Brown, Tim Guyer, Peter Theochari, Mel Nicolaou, Duncan Ealand, Damien Magee and Angelos Hadjigeorgiou, together with the some clients flew out to Athens. The tournament took place on a perfect Sunday afternoon at the Olympiakos Stadium, no less. Among the 30 teams present were PWC, The Baltic Exchange and Diamantis Pateras. Placed in what was certainly the ‘group of death’, we narrowly missed qualifying out of the group stage while winning 6 out of 8 matches including beating last year’s winner Capital Ship Management.
The training has now begun in earnest, to be in even better shape for 2 years’ time.
