Campbell Johnston Clark continues to invest in its talented team, with David Owens joining our London office as a Director, and Associate Solicitors Cecilie Rezutka and Keeley Edmondson adding to our shipping litigation expertise in our London and Newcastle offices. Well-known costs lawyer Mark Vickery has also been engaged on a consultancy basis.
David Owens has recently joined CJC as a Director based in our London office and brings with him experience gained at international law firms and from an in-house role at a leading ship management company.
A litigator specialising in shipping and commodities, David is experienced in resolving operational issues and disputes across 'dry' and 'wet' shipping (including those relating to charterparties, bills of lading, pool agreements, bunker supply contracts, cargo contamination and collisions). His expertise also covers disputes arising from shipbuilding and ship financing arrangements and commodity sale contracts.
David has acted in international arbitrations in various forums, including the ICC, LMAA, SIAC and FOSFA, as well as in the English High Court and Court of Appeal. A supporting member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association, he has also advised in relation to matters involving proceedings in foreign courts in North America, West Africa and the Middle East.
CJC has also expanded its UK team through the appointment of two Associate Solicitors, with Cecilie Rezutka and Keeley Edmondson respectively joining our London and Newcastle offices.
Cecilie specialises in resolving shipping disputes arising from charterparties/bills of lading, with a particular focus on ‘dry’ shipping and commodity contract problems. She acts for shipowners, charterers, traders and their insurers and P&I Clubs in both English Court proceedings and arbitration, and has expertise in multi-jurisdictional claims. She is also fluent in German, French, Norwegian, Czech and Slovak and has a working knowledge of Danish and Swedish.
Keeley works closely with shipowners and P&I Clubs, amongst others, on charterparty, bills of lading, and laytime and demurrage disputes. Her work also includes cross-jurisdictional claims and enforcement issues involving High Court litigation, London arbitration and multi-jurisdictional disputes.
