CJC has strengthened its London team following the appointment of William Stansfield as Senior Associate. William acts for both ship owners and charterers on the full range of charterparty claims, bill of lading claims, and general average claims, and can also advise on coverage disputes under contracts of marine insurance. On the casualty side, William advises ship owners and their insurers on the legal and practical issues that arise following a casualty at sea, such as collisions, groundings and fires.
SINGAPORE
Ben Lim as joined CJC’s Singapore office as an Associate, bringing with him experience of both wet and dry shipping litigation. Ben has managed disputes involving ship collisions, cargo loss, commodities, crew wages, charterparty and bunker supply issues, and advised ship arrests and Admiralty actions in rem.
Qualified in Singapore as an Advocate and Solicitor, Ben has dealt with disputes in mediation, arbitration and before the Singapore courts. Before qualifying as a lawyer, Ben spent a decade in agribusiness at leading British and Japanese trading houses, where he was the head of the soft commodity trading desks.
